Education

Prior to attending college, I graduated from Manalapan High School in Manalapan, New Jersey. I received my Bachelors of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from Rutgers University. I attended Rutgers University from 2007 until 2011. I also received my Masters of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education from Hofstra University. (GPA 3.97)

Experience

I am currently a substitute teacher in the Half Hollow Hills School District and highly motivated to become a full time teacher. I am certified to teach 5th through 12th grade. My area of content specialty is History, but I am comfortable working with elementary school aged children in all areas as I am familiar with the material and working with grades K-12 during the school day. In addition to tutoring, I am Water Safety, Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED certified and I give children ages 6 months and up swimming lessons. I have also coached at the varsity level.

Hobbies

I am a very warm and friendly person. I enjoy getting to know my students and their hobbies and interests. When I was a student I remember my parents hiring a tutor for SAT prep, and the tutor who came to the house was a brilliant man but extremely boring. I understand that tutoring is not always desired by the students, but I make it my goal to make learning and education as interesting and engaging as possible.
